 How to Join Credit unions all have one or more fields of membership to which you must belong to be eligible to join. Eligibility to join a credit union is based on one of three things: where you work, where you live or what you support such as Consumers United Association (www.cuacolorado.org), a nonprofit advocacy group educating consumers on financial issues.
